I have been privileged to have been a member of the Inland Wetlands and Planning Committee and would bring those experiences from having served on those two boards to Zoning. The most important issue that I intend to focus on if I am given the chance to serve on Zoning is to help form a good balance between the development in town and the challenge to maintain the look and feel of the Brookfield I have known for the past 30 years. The taxes in this town are getting to the point where long time residents are looking elsewhere to live and turning away prospective residents. Zoning must work with the other boards and commissions to make sure that we are making responsible decisions that grow our tax base while making sure that the businesses and developers we do attract impact our town in a positive way.
As a new homeowner in Brookfield I believe that the Republican party offers the best chance at good, common sense government that balances the needs of the town versus the wants that the town would like to develop. The Republican party in Brookfield has had a solid track record of keeping residents in town that have been here for 20+ years along with attracting new residents with common sense investments in town infrastructure and business development.
